A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of the Philippines – Los Baños (UPLB) and the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) was ceremonially signed at the UPLB Office of the Chancellor Executive Conference Room last June 9, 2023. DA-BAFE Director Ariodear C. Rico is represented by BAFE-SRED Division Chief, Engr. Janice P. Vargas and Engr. Mark Twain A. Limbo.

PhilSA and BAFE set to enter into collaborative research agreement
A joint consultation was conducted on March 14, 2023 between the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) and the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) with the goal of collaborating on a satellite-based research project. The project focuses on mapping agricultural crops and farm-to-market roads (FMRs) throughout the Philippines, with the aim of improving monitoring and management techniques.

Senior High School students take ICT internship in DA-BAFE
The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) opened its doors to accommodate Senior High School Students enrolled in a public high school in Balintawak, Quezon City for an internship program. Ten (10) male Senior High School or Grade 12 students from Balingasa High School taking the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strand of the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track have started their internship in DA-BAFE office.
