In a bid to bolster the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) workforce and reinforce regulations that support agri-fisheries mechanization and infrastructure, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) hosted a workshop from August 6 to 9, 2024, in Cagayan de Oro City. The event drew key stakeholders, industry experts, and government representatives to engage in critical discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
Central Luzon LGUs Utilize Digital Tools to Improve Farm-to-Market Road Connectivity
Local government units (LGUs) from Bataan, Tarlac, and Zambales convened on July 23 to 24, 2024 in a workshop to discuss how digital tools can improve the localization of the Farm-to-Market Roads Network Plan (FMRNP) 2023-2028. Hosted by the Regional Agricultural Engineering Division of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon, the workshop aimed to align efforts and share innovative tools crucial for the plan’s success.

The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) has conducted its Mid-Year Assessment of the Farm-to-Market Road Development Program (FMRDP) for Fiscal Year 2024 from July 9 to 12, 2024. The three-day event, spearheaded by Engr. Allan C. Goleng, Interim Chief of the Special Programs and Projects Management Division, gathered key stakeholders from the Regional Agricultural Engineering Division (RAED) and DA-BAFE.
Government accelerates Farm-to-Market Road projects in Northern Mindanao

Local government units (LGUs) in Oriental and Occidental Mindoro provinces are taking the lead in localizing the National Farm-to-Market Road Network Plan (FMRNP) for 2023-2028, highlighting their crucial role in supporting rural development through well-maintained road networks. This initiative was the focus of a comprehensive three-day workshop, organized by DA-BAFE and DA-MIMAROPA Regional Agricultural Engineering Division, where officials of Mindoro LGUs and national line agencies gathered to strategize the plan for maximum impact.
Western Visayas Officials Strategize Farm-to-Market Road Network Development
In a pivotal effort to enhance the agricultural infrastructure in Western Visayas, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) led a three-day planning workshop and coordination meeting from June 25 to 27, 2024. DA empowers stakeholders to enhance supervision in agriculture projects
In efforts to enhance the oversight capabilities of agricultural infrastructure project beneficiaries, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) conducted a four-day training session on the Citizen’s Monitoring Tool (CMT). Thirty-one (31) representatives from the Department of Agriculture’s Regional Agricultural Engineering Divisions (RAEDs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and Farmers’ Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) participated in the Citizens Monitoring Tool (CMT) training from June 18 to 21, 2024 at the El Cielito Hotel in Baguio City.

DA-BAFE and Caraga State University Launch Farm-to-Market Road Impact Assessment (FaMRIA) Project
The Farm-to-Market Road Impact Assessment (FaMRIA) Project was officially launched on May 24, 2024, at Almont Inland Resort in this city with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) by DA-BAFE Director Engr. Ariodear Rico and CSU President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil. This initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) and Caraga State University (CSU), aims to evaluate the far-reaching effects of Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs) on local communities.
