The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) are eyeing on increasing the utilization of cost-efficient renewable energy (RE) systems and technologies in the country’s agriculture and fisheries sector.

In its commitment to strengthen the local agri-fishery machinery manufacturing sector, the BAFE will conduct its first “Online Local Agricultural and Fishery Machinery Assemblers and Manufacturers Forum” on October 25, 27, and 29, 2021 for the Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon Cluster, respectively.

DA-BAFE has partnered with the Visayas State University (VSU) in the conduct of the Online Trainor’s Training on Software-Aided Feasibility Study Preparation and Evaluation for Agricultural and Fisheries Infrastructure Projects, through the university’s e-Learning program. Dar articulated the Duterte administration’s over-all vision of a food secure and resilient Philippines with empowered and prosperous farmers and fisherfolks, in his keynote message at the opening of the 70th Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE) Annual National Convention held online on April 27.
