QUEZON CITY – In celebration of BAFE’s 12th Anniversary and in the spirit of giving and community, the Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE), together with the BAFE Employees’ Association (BAFEEA), held an outreach program last June 23, 2025 at the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) – DSWD – NCR in Quezon City.
Carrying the theme “Supporting Every Filipino Child: BAFE’s Corporate Social Responsibility through an Outreach Program,” the activity served as a meaningful opportunity for BAFE employees to spend time with children under the care of the Department of Social Welfare and Development – NCR.
The morning started by an opening prayer led by Engr. Desiree Salvatera-Sotelo. A warm welcome from RSCC staff set the tone for a day filled with care, laughter, and shared joy.
The venue came alive with cheerful energy as BAFE and BAFEEA volunteers facilitated getting-to-know activities, building bonds and putting smiles on the children’s faces. The simple act of connecting helped foster a sense of belonging and support for the kids.
Snacks were distributed and gift-giving followed – small tokens that carried big meanings for the children. A special intermission number by Engr. Emmanuel Lanuza of BAFEEA added music and entertainment to the program.
The event wrapped up with a short but heartfelt closing message from Atty. John Paul T. Romero, who expressed gratitude to everyone who helped bring the outreach activity to life. The day ended with dinner and cheerful goodbyes, leaving behind new memories and a renewed sense of community.
All BAFE staff proudly wore their 2025 Sportsfest Polo Shirts, symbolizing unity and collective effort. The program was smoothly hosted by Engr. Desiree Salvatera-Sotelo and Engr. Jeffrey M. Sebastian, who kept the energy warm and welcoming throughout the event.
More than just a CSR activity, this outreach served as a reminder that through simple acts of kindness, we can all make a lasting difference in the lives of others – especially our children. ###DA-BAFE ICS
