PASAY CITY – In a bid to align with globally recognized benchmarks for quality management, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) has embarked on a comprehensive training initiative aimed at achieving ISO 9001 compliance.


DA-BAFE is embarking on a strategic endeavor to fortify its operations in adherence to internationally acknowledged quality standards. With a concerted effort to enhance its Quality Management System (QMS), DA-BAFE initiated a rigorous training program focused on the tenets of ISO 9001:2015.


Participants from the DA-BAFE Office of the Director, Office of the Assistant Director, AFD, PPMD, EPDSD, SRED, PKMDD, and SEPPD attended the training titled Understanding ISO 9001: 2015 Principles, Requirements and Their Applications held from February 12 to 14, 2024 at the Selah Garden Hotel, Pasay City with resource speaker Ms. Cynthia R. Ramirez.


Led by Engr. Noemi Carpio, the agency’s QMS Leader, the training session saw participation from management and key personnel representing various divisions within DA-BAFE,


Emphasizing the significance of the endeavor, Engr. Carpio urged attendees to delve into the intricacies of ISO 9001, stressing the imperative of introspection to refine existing processes and bolster service delivery to clientele.


Guiding the participants through the nuances of ISO 9001:2015 was Ms. Cynthia R. Ramirez, an esteemed authority in the field. Over the course of three days, Ramirez elucidated the core principles and requirements of ISO 9001, highlighting its potential to enhance operational efficacy, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a positive organizational image.


Central to the training program were the seven auditable clauses of ISO 9001:2015, including Context of the Organization, Leadership, Planning, Support, Operations, Performance Evaluation, and Improvement. Through comprehensive discussions and practical exercises, participants gained insights into the application of these clauses within the context of DA-BAFE’s operations.


Ramirez underscored the manifold benefits of ISO 9001 QMS, ranging from heightened efficiency and effectiveness to improved legal compliance and access to new markets. By adhering to ISO 9001 standards, organizations like DA-BAFE can streamline their processes, bolster customer satisfaction, and enhance their competitive edge in the market.
