Camarines Norte agriculture sector ready for boost with DA-backed plans

The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) has recently completed a workshop to improve agricultural production and infrastructure in Camarines Norte. Key stakeholders gathered from May 14-17, 2024 to develop the Agricultural and Fishery Mechanization Plan (AFMech) and the Farm-to-Market Road Network Plan (FMRNP) for 2023-2028, setting the way for a more efficient and sustainable agricultural industry in the province.

Iloilo’s farming and fishing community is set to reap benefits from the Farm-to-Market Road Network Plan (FMRNP), as unveiled by the Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE) during a high-profile Bagong Pilipinas Town Hall Meeting held in Iloilo City. Attending the Bagong Pilipinas Town Hall Meeting on April 25, 2024 were Usec. Terrence Calatrava (Presidential Assistant for the Visayas), Congressman Lex Anthony Cris Colada (Party List – AAMBIS-OWA), Rep. Elizaldy Co (Party List – AKO BICOL), Rep. James “Jojo” Ang Jr. (Party List – USWAG ILONGGO), Speaker of the House of Representatives Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Mayor Oscar “Richard” Serag Garin Jr. (Miagao, Iloilo), Rep. Julienne “Jam” Baronda (Iloilo City, Lone District), Rep. Raul Tupas (Iloilo, 5th district), DA-BAFE Dir. Ariodear Rico, and Regional Exec. Dir. Dennis Arpia (DA-RFO VI).

DA-BAFE joins Bagong Pilipinas Town Hall Meeting

With a strong dedication to heed President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s call for nationwide engagement, the Department of Agriculture (DA), alongside its affiliated bureaus and agencies, took an important step towards fostering transparency and citizen engagement. Representatives from the Department of Agriculture and its attached corporations, agencies and bureaus attended the Alignment Meeting for the “Bagong Pilipinas” Town Hall Meetings on Februrary 28, 2024, at the New Executive Building in Malacañang, where the Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) pledged active support.

DA-BAFE and PhilSA collaborate to transform agriculture sector with space tech

In an innovative move set to transform the country’s agriculture sector, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) and the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) formalized a collaborative agreement on February 21, 2024. Leading the charge for DA-BAFE, Director Engr. Ariodear C. Rico signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on behalf of the bureau, while PhilSA Director General Joel Joseph S. Marciano represented the space agency.

In a bid to align with globally recognized benchmarks for quality management, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (DA-BAFE) has embarked on a comprehensive training initiative aimed at achieving ISO 9001 compliance.. Participants from the DA-BAFE Office of the Director, Office of the Assistant Director, AFD, PPMD, EPDSD, SRED, PKMDD, and SEPPD during the training titled Understanding ISO 9001: 2015 Principles, Requirements and Their Applications held from February 12 to 14, 2024 at the Selah Garden Hotel, Pasay City with resource speaker Ms. Cynthia R. Ramirez.

Philippines Unveils Food Logistics Action Agenda to Revolutionize Supply Chains

In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionizing the nation’s food logistics sector, the Three-Year Food Logistics Action Agenda was officially introduced as part of the Development of Philippine Food Chain Logistics Masterplan (PFCLM) 2023-2030. The said logistics master plan will guide the government and stakeholders to implement an effective, efficient, modernized, and sustainable nationwide food chain logistics system in the country which shall deliver the right product in the right quality and condition to the right place at the right time and for the right cost.
